2 We have a situation There have been issues in class that warrant reminders about the class rules and good citizenship in our classroom community

3 Remember the class rules: All school rules apply Respect is mandatory Safety is crucial On time, on task Professional learning environment Business Language Only Timely submission of assignments Responsible for your own grade

4 These rules are not being followed by all of us And we are all paying the price

What happens when the group follows these rules?

6 Positive results You are treated as adults You feel respected Learning happens without distractions

7 When rules are followed: You are self-directed, independent workers, Each working toward a common end Skill building and work readiness

What happens when these rules are broken, and people are disrespectful?

10 Price Tags of Disrespect An uncomfortable, disrespectful environment Learning is disrupted

11 Price Tags of Disrespect You are treated as elementary school students

12 Price Tags of Disrespect Privileges are revoked You will be teacher driven, working to do just the assignments, with little independence or freedom This becomes an oppressive, controlled environment

13 Specific consequences for poor behavior will be handed down

14 Repercussions Student conference with teacher discussing behavior and expectations Calls home Detention Referrals Grade reductions - remember that participation is 1/3 of the grade
