Attendance Instruction begins at 8:15. Students not here by that time are considered tardy and will need a pass to enter class. Excessive tardies may affect end of year awards, possible retention, or may need to make up instructional time missed. Students must be in school 90% of the school year. Therefore, they may not miss more than 18 days. Attendance is crucial to learning.

Students have an individual monster that can be customized Students are given points when following rules or are exhibiting excellent behavior Students lose points when a rule is not followed

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Students are allowed to bring their own devices to school every day 21 st Century learning skills are a part of every day learning expectations in the classroom Laptops, cell phones, tablets, iPads (anything internet capable) Permission slip

Homework reinforces concepts taught during the school day. Monday – Friday to include breaks and holidays if needed Due daily Weekly writing probes sent Friday due Monday beginning 2 nd week of school Independent reading everyday

Scholastic Reading Club Monthly order form Order books for your child; delivered to the classroom Parent orders give points to classroom for classroom library and class sets of novels

Parent Expectations For students to be successful, we would greatly appreciate the following: Review agenda daily and sign. Communication is the key. Review child’s homework and ensure he/she is reading every day Make sure your child is fully prepared every day
