4  Everglades has different landforms  The Saw Palmetto palm tree that covers most of the everglades has sharp thorns that can cut you if you are not careful  Some landforms in the Everglades are swamps marshes and wetlands  The Pine Forest is the highest place in the Everglades

5  People lived, explored, and visit the Everglades.  The Tequesta and Colusa Indians were the first settlers in the Everglades.  The Spanish explorers came looking for gold.  People now visit the Everglades but nobody lives there.

6  Everglades has Saw grass marshes, bays, and rivers.  Water leaving Lake Okeeroobe in the wet season forms the everglades.  Saw grass marshes are possible to walk across even in the wet season.  Florida Bay makes up one third of the Everglades.

7  The Everglades has lots of limestone  The Pinelands have a hard rocky ground made up of limestone.  Limestone is at the bottom of the Everglades River.  The limestone is made up of shells, mud, and sand.
