A minimum of 24 units are required for graduation in the following areas: English- 4 units Mathematics – 4 units Science – 4 units Social Studies 3 units (4 classes) Health & Physical Education 1 unit World Language – 2 to 3 units, 2 in same language (College Prep)/1 unit (CTAE Pathway) Electives – 4 units Must have at least 24 units total

Every student must choose and complete a College/Career Pathway: o Advanced Academic o Foreign Language (Spanish) o Fine Arts (Visual Arts, Band) o CTAE (Law and Criminal Justice, ROTC, Nutrition and Food Science, Small Business Development, Administrative/Info. Support)

Pathway Requirement College Pathway vs CTAE Pathway You should have already chosen a pathway during your 8 th grade year; however, if you did not, talk to your high school counselor or advisor before choosing a pathway Each pathway has different graduation requirements and college options. Be sure your choices give you the most opportunity possible. 8

Pathway Requirement Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Pathway: 4 units in a coherent sequence of CTAE courses leading to college readiness and a career readiness certificate endorsed by related industries Pathways available at School of Liberal Studies at SHS are Law and Criminal Justice, Nutrition and Food Science, Adminstrative/Information Support, Small Business Development, JROTC, Fine Arts: Visual Arts, Band 9

Community Service Every student must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by the completion of the junior year. Must be completed at a non-profit agency Student cannot work at a business Cannot be completed during the school day Student cannot get paid 11

Students must pass at least 5 units (1 Eng., 1 Math, 1 Science, 1 Social Studies plus 1 more) Attendance is EXTREMELY important! ◦ No more than 15 absences are allowed per year (includes excused and unexcused) ◦ Any child under 16 who during the school calendar year has more than ten (10) days of unexcused absences is considered truant and may be referred to the Court by the School Social Worker ◦ If student MUST be absent, an official excuse or parent note must be submitted immediately upon return (only 5 parent notes per year permitted)
