It demanded loyalty, devotion, and honor to the death.

12. There are seven virtues associated with Bushido:
Gi – Right decisions
Yu - Courage
Jin - Benevolence
Rei - Respect
Makoto - Honesty
Meiyo - Honor
Chugi - Loyalty
