11. Voltage converters 1.7805 Regulator ($1,50) 2.These can get hot! Put a heat sink if neccesary 3.Max output current about 1.5A IN GND 5V OUT Heat sink Purpose: Keep constant output voltage while input voltage varies (even oscillates)

12. 741 OpAmp Purpose: Amplify signals, act as a buffer

13. DC-DC converters 1.Expensive($50)

14. Light emitting diodes This is a diode, which happens to light up Flat spot indicates GND Short wire indicates GND Avoid making short cuts, always put a resistor in series (470  (Ohm)) LED needs about 10 mA to light up

16. Crystals Canned version 40MHz just apply V cc, no caps needed Crystal 20 MHz Needs capacitors to work Purpose: Generate very precise clocks for telecommunication, microcontrollers etc.

17. CMOS chip (4050) Specs: CMOS Logic Data book Purpose: Amplify signals, act as a buffer
