1. Nervous System Project Example Please note that this is a very simplified project meant to give the students an idea of what their project could possibly look like. They may NOT do the same motion idea (stepping on a spider/bug) as this was modeled for them in class.

2. Stimulus You look down and see a spider crawling across the floor. You hate spiders and decide to step on it! The sense organ involved is the eyes because you actually SEE the spider.

3. The Action Since you hate spiders so much and find them repulsive, you decide to STEP ON THE SPIDER.

4. How Message Gets TO the Brain The message travels from my eyes along the nerves (the optic nerve) to the brain.

5. How Message Get FROM the Brain The brain sends a message down the spinal cord, to the nerves in my leg which connect to the muscle. The message tells me to pick up my leg and bring my foot down on the disgustingly gross arachnid.
