The ending on a verb tells us Who did it! and When they did it! As in English they have person and number… 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd personals Number…singular and plural Verb endings

Tells us WHO Sing Plural O (I) mus (We) S (You sing) tis (you pl) T (he/she/it) nt (they) Personal Endings

To form the present tense you simply add the personal ending to the present stem of the verb…What? How do you get that? Take the 2 nd principal part of the verb, the infinitive and drop the re… Example…amo, amare amavi, amatus AMARE, DROP RE…AMA… But be careful…notice the a is dropped for 1 st person sing…(also note that the first form of the verb is the present, 1 st person sing) So it’s given to you. Present tense
