TRF rubric notes 10/27/15 EQ: Explain how to achieve a good score on the TRF using the new rubric as a guide

Pre-Tutorial Inquiry Score falls between 0-15 ( Credit=11,13,15) What gets a zero? -Having content boxes left blank -Repetitively putting irrelevant vocabulary terms -Clearly rushing or repetitively failing to show effort in your tutorial, such as having minimal or non- specific/detailed info in your WIK/WIT and/or thoughts/steps Any score beyond 11 will be given based on thoughtfulness, quality of work, and effort

Tutorial Question Score falls between 0-5 ( Credit=3, 4, or 5) What gets a zero? -Having a complete disconnect between P.O.C. and Tutorial (P.O.C.?) Question- This includes writing your P.O.C. so illegibly that I cannot read it to see the connection What gets a 3-5? Questions that clearly connect to POC, that identify SPECIFICALLY what the student wants to clear, that appropriately uses and id’s COSTAS VERBS through underlining/highlighting What loses 1 point: Irrelevant/incorrect Costas, no underlining/highlighting, Having a POC? That asks for TWO or more different actions (ie: tutorial time waster)

Collaborative Inquiry Score falls between 0-10 ( Credit=7, 9, or 10) TUTOR Scores What gets a zero? -Having a group that has been warned 3 or more times to stay relevant or focused on the presenter What gets a 7-10? 7- Everyone asked at least one question of each presenter (most tutorials are at this level) 9- Everyone asked multiple questions of each presenter and most were COSTA’s higher level 10- Model Tutorial (very RARE!) Everyone asked higher level ?’s, Presenter gave clear 30-second, no warnings about time wasting or being on task.

Notes Score falls between 0-5 ( Credit=5) -Tutor scores after checking everyone’s notes -Notes must have EVERYTHING that was written on the whiteboard or they are not worth credit

Reflection Score falls between 0-15 ( Credit=11, 13, 15) -What gets a zero Responses that only state that person did not present today! Repetitive responses or vague or non-specific responses about the persons plan to learn more about their POC What gets 11-15 -Responses that indicate presenter learned about their POC (including details) OR that indicate a clear and specific plan to learn about their POC with a question that states what they know and what they need to know -Responses that clearly explain how the learning from tutorial will help them in their class

Reflection How to properly answer questions: THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS!!!!! 1.) My/other POC was: Explain in your own words how you or another person was confused- DO NOT simply COPY down the POC; EXPLAIN IT! 2.) What I learned… Look back at the 3 column notes; identify a specific item or process that YOU or the presenter learned 3.) Greater/New Understanding: Think back to the structure and process of the tutorial, did you learn a new way to ask questions? Did you gain subject knowledge? Did you learn about your POC? 4.) Learning is important… don’t over think it… every interaction in life gives us the opportunity to learn, how will this help you? 5.) What I found meaningful: Find something specific!

Loss of Points: Tardy to class= -10 Missing Materials= -10 Name/Headings not in ink= -3
