Progress towards target architecture (CSPA) in ESS CSPA certified ESS CSPA basecamp Project ESS.VIP.SERV: Sharing common functionalities in the ESS

The purpose of the project is to: Implement governance structure to enable sharing of services Contribute to standardising the description of business needs by providing CSPA compliant guidelines for describing service definitions Host and maintain a CSPA service catalogue at the Commission/Eurostat containing also services identified at ESS level Provide guidelines and recommendations for the ESS enabling national projects to realize technological solutions for industrialisation and integration of processes and for the rationalisation of information systems. Provide an ESS/Eurostat SOA environment for sharing services in the ESS for which no replication is necessary. Provide Proof of Concepts statistical services that are re- used in various organizations Objectives

Cost and benefit CostsBenefits OPT-IN/OPT-OUT PRINCIPLE For those who participating: Cost of development of re- usable services Cost of integration of re-usable services Flexible business processes Easier exchange of information about re-usable statistical services Cost reduction of development and maintenance of information systems Easier management of skills 8 Participation is voluntary. Each country can decide on the cost/benefit of re-using a particular statistical service.

Status 10 IDNameDescription SERV.D03 CSPA service catalogue The CSPA service catalogue is hosted and maintained by EUROSTAT. SERV.D04 SOA Infrastructure Middleware based on Oracle OSB was configured and available for use for hosting services. SERV.D06POC ServicesThe first POC service, Structured Validation Service (STRUVAL) was developed. It is planned to be tested and applied in NAPS-S by the end of 2015.
