His wife made Thirukachhi Nambi sit outside the main hall of their house and after serving him food and sending him away, she took bath as she thought she should purify herself having cleaned the place where a vaisya had taken food. It was all over by the time Ramanuja returned home. He felt greatly offended as he thought his wife had insulted his guru.
