Science Project: Week March 23-27 Making a Habitat Box
Objective: To build a model that accurately depicts a habitat you have studied. Step One: Choose a habitat from: Tundra Grassland – Pampas Taiga Grassland – Savannah Boreal Forest Fresh water Deciduous Forest Salt water Rain Forest Desert – Hot or Cold Grassland – Prairie

Step Two: Research the habitat
Learn about the climate and weather. Find out what plants grow there. Explore the different animals that live there.

Step Three: Gather all your materials
You will need: A box A way of decorating your box Something to depict plants that grow in your chosen habitat Something to depict animals that live in your chosen habitat

(We will do this in class)
Step Four: Make your Habitat Box (We will do this in class) Background – Should cover the inside of the box and look like your chosen habitat. Bottom – Should look like the actual ground of the habitat. Inside – The box should be decorated with things you would see in your chosen habitat. For example, plants, animals, trees.

Step Five: Write a Description of your Habitat.
Your description should be at least a paragraph long and should include: The name of the habitat The habitat’s climate Animals that can be found there Plants and trees that can be found in the habitat Where on earth the habitat can be found At least one other interesting fact about the habitat.
