Lines and Angles
3
Vocabulary Two lines are parallel lines if they do not intersect.
4
Transversals A transversal is a line that intersects two or more lines. transversal
5
Corresponding Angles Two angles are corresponding angles if they are located, one inside and one outside the lines, and on the same side of the transversal. (same position) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 and 5 4 and 8 2 and 6 3 and 7
6
Alternate Exterior Angles Two angles are alternate exterior angles if they are located outside of the lines and on opposite sides of the transversal. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 and 8 2 and 7
7
Alternate Interior Angles Two angles are alternate interior angles if they are located between the lines and on opposite sides of the transversal. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 3 and 6 5 and 4
8
Same Side Interior Angles Two angles are same side interior angles if they are located between the lines and on the same side of the transversal. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 3 and 5 4 and 6
