Community Spirit Event Epsom and Ewell Epsom and Ewell Olivia Jean-Baptiste The logo and strapline Suggestion The values The charts

Olivia Jean-Baptiste The logo and strapline ‘‘The event is an initiative to bring local communities together by organising events and raising the profile of local charities’’. The environment must remain inclusive to all no matter race, age or disability etc. The logo must promote these ethics, the colour scheme of the event is largely green as being eco friendly will help the environment of which we want to show our pride in. the 3 sticks figures of different sizes represent families, the fourth stick figure is a wheel chair showing that the event will cater to everyone’s needs. The strapline ‘Bringing communities together with spirit’ is a clear statement that tells the public the aim of the event. We must pride ourselves in preserving our closely knit community in order to thrive. The event therefore will have cuisine from around the world, wheelchair access and Paralympic sport. Local businesses are welcome to be part of the event and promote their goods.

Olivia Jean-Baptiste Suggestions It is essential that all volunteers arrive at 9 am to set up the event, this gives time in case anything were to go wrong. All volunteers must be wearing uniform so to be distinguished from member of the public. The charities (Meru, Child’s trust, The Hub, The Sunny Bank Trust) must be set up by 10 am. All food will be healthy and cater to all needs including those who prefer gluten free and organic food. Everything will be marked with allergy warnings. The unsold food and drink will be given to the local homeless centre ‘Sanctuary Supported Living’. The sports will be instructed by local P.E. teachers and prizes will be handed out to the children for effort, sportsman ship and skill. Adults can register for a raffle for the mystery grand prize and there will be many opportunities for teenagers to sign up for charity orientated work experience.

Olivia Jean-Baptiste The values The values of the event are clear the event is modelled around the idea of Inclusivity as it caters to everyone's need no matter creed or colour etc. If we want to improve people’s wellbeing and overcome some of our biggest societal challenges we must have understanding and the event raises awareness of this understanding. ‘communication leads to community, that is to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing’. The strapline ‘Bringing communities together with spirit’ highlights that we want everyone to have fun as well as doing good. Teamwork, passion, responsibility, are essential. Our volunteers will be encouraged to promote this.

Olivia Jean-Baptiste The charts My food expenses are minimised by the fact all my food is cooked on a barbeque determining that the expense of hire is in fact worth it, in drink expenses I have decided to drop the fresh lemonades it will be expensive and time consuming to make. The Food and Drink is expected to sell well with a predicted 300 customers and a profit of £831.00.

Olivia Jean-Baptiste The charts Attractions expenses Freebies expenses From my charts I see that Barbeque hire despite having a high cost will maximise income to around £600. The food will cater to all needs therefore will have a high number of predicted customers. I also decided that I will no longer hire sports equipment as there will be opportunities to play in the play areas already built in Bourne Hall Park After analysing the freebie expenses I decided no to purchase the cupcakes as for a small amount it will not increase revenue but cause loss in my predicted income, the party bags however are a great idea to attract families and young children.

Olivia Jean-Baptiste Assumptions I will assume that at least 100 children will be at the event. I will assume all volunteers will be punctual and in uniform so that the event will be set up by 10am. I will assume that condiments will be served with purchased food free of charge I will assume vegetarians will be catered for with the amount of produce I have bought I will assume children under 12 will be accompanied by an adult over 18 I will assume the venue will allow barbeques on site. I will assume that the majority of food and drink will be sold so that profit targets will be reached. I will assume the charities will set up their pitches with their own resources I will assume all entertainment will be child and eco friendly.
