Conclusion Need for electricity is evident (except to public) Renewables will not meet the need Community acceptability of coal plant phase- out Regulatory approvals process is known and workable for all sources Provincially imposed schedules for new plants However, Federal-Provincial jurisdictional issues may be difficult Nuclear plants take a long time to come on line Opposition to siting all types of facilities Best opportunities appear to be facilities sited near/adjacent existing facilities
