Topic for Research Choose a literary movement that we have studied so far: Colonial Romanticism Realism & Naturalism What overall theme do you feel is emphasized and revealed from that specific movement and its literature? Provide evidence from literary works that came about during that movement to support your chosen theme. Five sources are required You may only use 3 web sites. Each must be credible. Class lecture and discussion notes should be cited using the textbook. Other evidence and literature will need to come from your own reading and research – you may use textbook, novels, and/or own reading for literature. Thesis statement should reveal your movements name, and the theme you are arguing is revealed from the movement and its literary works overall.

PowerPoint Guidelines This should simply serve as an “overview” of your research project. Think… main ideas of your research results and some examples to help explain. Be creative! Include pictures and graphics for a higher grade. Include citations under photos in presentation itself. Slide 1 = title slide Include chosen movement, theme, and name Final slide = works cited for information (same as what is in your paper) + full citations for pictures. No requirement on amount of slides or time to present. Graded more on quality rather than quantity. You may use note cards while presenting. In fact, it’s encouraged! You do NOT want to simply read slides to us. You must dress up on the day of your presentation. We will go in alpha order by last name. Your presentation should be formal and informative, not an attempt to simply entertain.
