Part 1: Research Paper (Battle/Event/person) Cover Page: Picture of person/event/battle, names of everyone in your group, title of your paper, date (1/20/16), Class Period Worth 5 points

Part 1: Research Paper (Battle/Event/person) Paper Length: 2-5 pages, please try not to go over 5 pages 12pt New Roman Times, double spaced Default margins Worth 5 points

Part 1: Research Paper (Battle/Event/person) When was the person born? When did the event or battle happen? Where was the person from? Where did the battle/event take place? What lead up to the event/battle? What did the person do to earn a living before becoming famous or what job title did they hold? If a person what country were they from? If a battle/event give the statistics of the battle include casualties from both sides. How did the person/event/battle change the war? Tell why the person is still important.

Part 1: Research Paper (Battle/Event/person) Answers to all of the above questions need to be found in your paper. Proofread, check for spelling and grammar errors. Worth 40 points

Part 2: Letter Home You will need to imagine that you are a soldier in WWI (You may not be an American Soldier) and you are writing home to either a significant other, sibling, parent, or grandparent. Hand written letter (I need to be able to read it), sign it from one person, at the very bottom of the paper please include a line that says “P.S. : (all of the names of the people in your group) would like to say hello and pass the message to their families that all is well. You will need to find a picture of a soldier from WWI in the uniform of the country you are pretending to be from and attach it to the letter This format and picture is worth 5 points

Part 2: Letter Home You will need to include in your letter: – Where are you fighting? – What are some new weapons you see or are using? – Are you in the army or navy? – How do you feel about the war now that you are in the thick of the fighting vs. how you felt before you left? Worth 40 points

Part 2: Letter Home The letter must be creative and include detailed description of the war. (Remember the issues with shell shock) Needs to be written in narrative form Worth 5 points

Part 3: Propaganda Poster You will create a poster that will entice people to support the war effort. The poster must be on poster board Must be in color Must contain a catchy Phrase Must clearly show which country the poster comes from Worth 30 points
