Flight Mission NA-04 (INST – BI) T- 45 RC To provide the IUT with Aviation Instructor Indoctrination focusing on standard NATOPS flight procedures and qualification.

NA-04 ORM Operational Requirements / Limitations –Crew Rest / Crew Day / Work Week –R&I –IP Currency (SOP) –Warm Up Eligibility –Previous Flight Incomplete? Determine Graded Items. Human Factors –Life Stressors / External Factors / Personal Problems –Medical Status (Crew Day/Rest / Nourishment / Hydration) Hazards and Controls –Routine –Weather Current Observations and Forecasts Crosswinds Fuel Considerations –Mission Specific

NA-04 ORM BI High Risk Areas/Maneuvers –TO/Centerline control during ITO –Stalls Compressor stall/engine damage with rapid throttle movement at high AOA Disorientation/Unusual attitudes during entry/recovery from stalls –Instrument Approaches Adhere to “minute to live” rule Timely execution and maintain sufficient rate of climb on missed approach

NA-04 TTO Who will call a TTO? What situations will the TTO be called? –Safety –Confusion / Misunderstanding IP Responsibilities –Recognize need for TTO –Explanation / Instruction as necessary –Documentation on ATF When and how will training resume?

NA-04 Admin (Mission Card) –A/C - ATC C/S –Crew –Brief / Walk / Takeoff / Land Times –ATC Clearance / DD-175 / IFF –Jet Log / Fuel Plan –Line / T/O / Abort / RPM –Comm Plan –Nav Plan –Joker / RTB

NA-04 ADMIN Launch –Weather / NOTAMS / TFR / BASH –Preflight / Start / Taxi IFR Hood installation –ITO –Swapping of Controls –Enroute Procedures –RadAlt Usage RTB –Recovery –Diverts

NA-04 Conduct Demonstrate : Observe preflight inspection Introduce : Inspect area around aircraft Inspect canopy and seats Aft cockpit checks Postflight observe Maintenance control activities Full stop landing with no NWS Verify hood installation Practice : Inspect aircraft interior Checklists ITO DP Turn pattern Partial panel Level speed change ½ SRT S-1 pattern S-3 pattern Stall series Nose-high recovery Nose-low recovery

NA-04 Overview Recap Mission (Overall flow) Questions???

NA-04 STANDARD DEBRIEFING FORMAT The Flight Lead or Pilot-in-Command is responsible for ensuring all flight or crewmembers are thoroughly debriefed on the conduct of the mission utilizing the “S-P-B-E-MS-LL” format outlined below. (Refer to the CTW-1/CTW-2 Expanding Debriefing Guide for specific objectives). I.Safety II.Planning III.Brief IV.Execution V.Mission Success VI.Lessons Learned

Missed approach procedures Required when: –MAP on ASR / DH on PAR is reached and visual contact not made with runway environment –A safe landing is not possible –Directed by controlling agency –When required comm’s or nav equipment lost Procedures –Advance power to MRT and retract the boards –Maintain on-speed until intercepting 10 deg nose up –Confirm climb (2 pos rates of climb), and raise gear –At min of 125kts (raise flaps to half), at min of 140kts wings level (raise flaps to up) –Accelerate to 200kts (in pattern) or 250kts (leaving pattern) –Comply with missed approach instructions
