Scope of Second Work Stream: Electronic Address Discovery Previous feedback and outcomes of 2 nd SWG has emphasized need to provide mechanism to support the querying of provider directories to discover electronic addresses using some basic provider attributes Digital certificate discovery and electronic address discovery work streams will be conducted in parallel and stay in sync Electronic address discovery work stream will address minimum data elements for a provider directory and leverage significant progress already made by the State HIE Community of Practice (CoP) State HIE CoP will be invited to present its work to the Sprint Team and vice versa so that both groups remain in sync

3. High Level Project Plan and Timeline 1. Certificate discovery for directed exchange with a known end-point address (e.g., Direct address) 2. Electronic Address discovery PriorityMust-have UrgencyVery High:  Real-world usefulness  Mandated: recommendation to HITSC by mid-July for IFR  Use Case & Analysis doable within ~6 weeks  Prototypes/Reference Implementation to be completed by fall, in time for MU2 Final Rule Very High:  Real-world usefulness: Need to have standard as soon as possible, but may not be feasible by July 15 th  Not certain about inclusion into regulation at this point (MU2) or later (other rule-making, MU3, etc.)  Important not to rush a short-term solution that impedes a good long-term solution.
