Create inventory of the product elements you may want to test. Looking at consistency relationships and trying various oracles. Generating test data. Considering testability and trying potentially useful tools. Experimenting with different ways of testing it. Reporting issues / defects found. Testing (primarily) to Search Using detailed product knowledge, and any relevant tools, to systematically exercise the product in every important way.
