1 Health Care Delivery System

2  About 75 percent of the total population of the barangay are being served, Because some of the people of the Barangay goes directly to the RHU or to the secondary hospital.  The nearest RHU is about 6 and one half kilometers from the Barangay health center, While the nearest secondary level hospital is 7 kilometers.

3  If a person seeks health care service he or she may go to their Barangay health center to see a Barangay health worker, nurse, or doctor who visits them.  If the patient requires to go to a health facility to see a physician, the patient may consult to her or his municipal Physician to have Primary Health Care.

4  What is Primary health care? Primary health care is the first level of contact that individuals, families and communities have with the health care system. Provided by the Barangay health workers, Public health nurses, midwives, and Doctors.

5  If the patient needs further Health care service the Physician sends the patient to the hospital for Secondary Health Care.

6  What is Secondary Health Care? Secondary Healthcare refers to a second tier of health system, in which patients from primary health care are referred to specialists in higher hospitals for treatment.

7  But if the patient seeks further health care service and advance equipment's for quick recovery the district may refer them to a Tertiary Health Care or the Provincial Hospital.

8  What is Tertiary Health Care? Tertiary Health care refers to a third level of health system, in which specialized consultative care is provided usually on referral from primary and secondary medical care. Specialised Intensive Care Units, advanced diagnostic support services and specialized medical personnel on the key features of tertiary health care. In India, under public health system, tertiary care service is provided by medical colleges and advanced medical research institutes.

9  If the patient seeks further specialized tertiary level they can be referred to a regional hospitals.
