What’s my mission workshop:
2
1- Start with the story telling
3
Introduction In your mind's eye, see yourself going to the funeral parlor or chapel, parking the car, and getting out. As you walk inside the building, you notice the flowers, the soft organ music. You see the faces of friends and family you pass along the way. You feel the shared sorrow of losing, the joy of having known, that radiates from the hearts of the people there. As you walk down to the front of the room and look inside the casket, you suddenly come face to face with yourself. This is your funeral, three years from today. All these people have come to honor you, to express feelings of love and appreciation for your life. As you take a seat and wait for the services to begin, you look at the program in your hand.
4
There are to be four speakers. The first one is from your family, immediate and also extended -- children, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents who have come from all over the country to attend. The second speaker is one of your friends, someone who can give a sense of what you were as a person. The third speaker is from your work or profession. And the fourth is from your church or some community organization where you've been involved in service. Now think deeply. What would you like each of these speakers to say about you and your life? What kind of husband, wife, father, or mother would you like their words to reflect? What kind of son or daughter or cousin? What kind of friend? What kind of working associate? What character would you like them to have seen in you? What contributions, what achievements would you want them to remember? Look carefully at the people around you. What difference would you like to have made in their lives?
5
Activity 1 -Everyone should think deeply about what these 4 category people will say (Friends, family, service, work) -They should write down their thoughts on 4 different colors sticky notes - Stick notes should be stickled on a wall and pick up random papers and read them loudly with the group _Ask them what will Jesus say about you then? (You may write notes on the board with what they will say)
6
Activity 2 give them points and verses randomly and try to challenge them to match the correct verse with the correct point (out of the 10 points in the word document)
7
10 steps you can take to advance God’s Kingdom and find your specific purpose in life.
8
1. Die to self. Advance God’s purpose rather than your own. 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25 Matthew 16:24-25 2. Decide you are going to TRUST God to meet the needs of your life. 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6 : 32-34 Matthew 3. Look inside yourself and ask, “What are my deepest desires and most persistent thoughts?” 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 Ephesians 2:10 4. Align your desires with your natural gift. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6-8). expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19Romans 12:6-8 Romans 8:19

5. Determine your gift by understanding the EFFECT it has in someone’s life. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same [a] Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12 (7- 11)a 6. Determine what VEHICLE you will use to express your gift? 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 2 Timothy 1:62 Timothy 1:6 7. Get moving on your dreams. These dreams are your purpose. 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 Matthew 7:7-8
10
8. Follow a logical path in fulfilling your dreams 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me [a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1 : 8a 9. Overcome obstacles that keep you from moving forward. 3 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the L ORD In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the L ORD ; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the L ORD ! Psalm 27:13-14 Psalm 27:13-14 10. As confidence grows, opportunity finds you. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19 Romans 8:19
11
3- discuss with them each point and try to explore their thoughts about it
12
Activity 3 4 -divide them into 2 groups and give them 2 biblical characters with 2 examples One who was searching for god’s mission for him (St Paul Acts 9 (1-22) One whom although he knew his mission yet he decided to go completely opposite ( Jonah 1(1-12), 3(1-10), 4(1-3)
