3
Purpose l Provide a system for executing Work Procedures electronically. –Electronic stamping –Electronic signatures –Permanent Data Record http://www.ksc.nasa.gov/payload/projects/qapdc
4
Participants l NASA l SENTEL l Boeing - Rocketdyne l Boeing l Auburn University

Current Operations Step 1Work Authorization Document (WAD) is generated in an electronic format Step 2WAD is printed and distributed to team members. Step 3WAD is executed via paper, pen, and ink-stamps Step 4As run copy is scanned into the computer Step 5As run copy becomes available in an electronic format Step 1Work Authorization Document (WAD) is generated in an electronic format Step 2WAD is converted into a format to be executed on a portable computer Step 3WAD is converted on a portable computer and becomes available in real-time Future Operations 1. 3. 2. 4.4. 5. 3.3. 1.2.2.

Benefits l All task team members see changes to document instantly (Deviations, Quality buy-offs, document closures, signatures, etc.) Team is informed. Assures data accuracy. l Deviations will be incorporated directly into document rather than just attachments. Improves accuracy of operation. Processing, approving, and distributing deviations is done electronically.
7
Benefits (Con’t) l Improves information availability for incident investigations and management reporting. l Eliminates need to carry multiple stamps and ink pads. l Emergency procedures can be accessed immediately. l Future savings may be realized by using the data in statistical analysis to identify and implement process improvements.
