Knowing We Belong Paul and his apostleship –Established his “credentials” (Galatians 1:11-17) –Doubt spread by his enemies (Galatians 4:16)

Knowing We Belong Concerned about our “belonging” –Self-examination (2 Corinthians 13:5) –We can know. (Romans 8:16; 1 John 5:13)

Knowing We Belong Affirm it to others –Proper attitude (1 Peter 3:15) –Relates to obedience (2 Timothy 4:6-8)

Knowing We Belong Do our children see us involved? –Imagine a scalpel refusing to be used –Are we allowing ourselves to be used?

Being Like Christ Pattern for our life –Imagine tracks in a snowy road –Jesus has gone before (1 Peter 2:21, 22) –He is our exact pattern

Being Like Christ Walk as He walked –What would he do? Where would he go? (1 John 2:6) –Abiding in Him requires walking in His footsteps

Being Like Christ Take up His cross –In difficult circumstances (Matthew 11:28-30) –One’s true self revealed under pressure

Being Like Christ What if He hadn’t made the tracks? –Tempted in all points (Hebrews 4:16) –Must not turn aside

Willing To Fight No draftees in God’s army –All volunteer –Reflection of the gift of free will

Willing To Fight Not warring after the flesh (vv. 3, 4) –Spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) –Powerful weapon (Romans 1:16) –Cannot be improved upon by Dale Carnegie's method or any others

Willing To Fight Tearing down fortresses (v. 5) –Paul was brought down (Acts 9) –Discern one’s thoughts (Hebrews 4:12) –Weaken in the flesh, but renewed in the spirit (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

Willing To Fight What is destroyed? –Philosophies of men such as evolution, premillenialism, etc. (Colossians 2:8-10) –Anything which exalts itself against the knowledge of God

Knowledge “From the Greek word gnosis meaning the knowledge of true realization which involves a relation of the subject to the object, of the knower to whom or what he knows (not the reverse as in mere intellectual perception). Willing To Fight What becomes captive? –Thoughts like prisoners in a war –Enslave our thoughts (Philippians 4:8) –Corrupted by what is in the heart (Matthew 15:18-20)
