Section 1: Reading Test 65 minutes, 52 questions Section 2: Writing and Language Test 35 minutes, 44 questions Section 3: Math Test -- No Calculator 25 minutes, 20 questions (Last 5 are grid answers) Section 4: Math Test -- Calculator 55 minutes, 38 questions (Last 8 are grid answers) New SAT Format Section 5: Essay -- Optional 50 minutes, one essay Note: Essay is now passage-based Total duration: 3 hours + 50 min for optional essay Scoring Scale ranging from 400 to 1600 Essay results reported separately No Penalty for guessing
