Teachers are talking about progress of individual students. Collaboration to meet the needs of students has increased. Elementary and Middle School Principals know performance levels of every student in reading and mathematics. The expectation is that every student will make a year’s worth of progress. Elementary principals have set ambitious goals.
27
Parents have been appreciative of the help offered to their students to meet immediate needs. Parent-teacher conferences are data driven. Our high schools are developing programs to meet specific needs/weaknesses of students. Middle and High Schools are exploring schedule changes to best meet the instructional needs of students. Our teachers are more prepared for the new Teacher Evaluation Standards.
