What do you believe is the most significant economic development in African history from 600-1500 CE? What do you believe is the most significant cultural development in African history from 600-1500 CE?

3 Part 1: Preparation Prompts: What do you believe is the most significant political development in African history from 600-1500 CE? What do you believe is the most significant economic development in African history from 600-1500 CE? What do you believe is the most significant cultural development in African history from 600-1500 CE? Write a complete sentence for each event – you must use specific evidence to support your claim. Really make sure you can support and explain your reasoning.

4 Part 2: Debate – Fishbowl Style Set up: A circle (3-4 students) within a circle (Everyone else). A student in the inner circle will make one of their claims and their evidence. You can use your notes to prompt you. A fellow classmate in the inner circle will (politely) agree or disagree a with you and give their reasons why. If someone in the outside circle has something to say – they will “tag-in” and trade places with someone in the inner circle. When one topic has run it’s course, we will hear another claim.
