Goals CCSS.ELA.5.6 – By the end of this lesson you will be able to use technology, such as the internet to produce and publish writing, as well as interact with others. CCS.Social Studies.5.9 – By the end of this lesson you will be able to identify the location of the current 50 states and know the name of their capitols.

GAMES Choose 1 OPTION 1 Materials – United States Map – A partner – 5 tokens each student Rules Partner (a) says a state name, partner (b) has 15 seconds to find the state and say the capitol. (challenge: 10 or 5 seconds) OPTION 2 Materials – Blank United States Map – Markers – Timer (click picture) Rules – Set your timer for 5 minutes – Label all of the states (Challenge: write the capitols too!)
