SERVING UNDER HARDSHIPS
3
Persevering in doing good while suffering man’s injustices (1 Peter 2:18-23). Life is not always fair. Job 14:1; Matthew 6:34; Ecclesiastes 7:15; 8:14 Joseph’s example (Genesis 39, 41). Submit to masters with proper fear. Wrongful suffering at men’s hands calls for endurance in continuing to do good. Overcome evil with good (Rom. 12:17-21).
4
A Christ-like heart makes all the difference when serving is unpleasant (Eph. 6:5-8). Masters are to be obeyed. “Obey in all things” (Colossians 3:22). Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29 Serve not to please men but to please the Lord. Cultivate good work ethics with integrity! “Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord…” (Colossians 3:23-24).
5
A Christ-like heart makes all the difference when serving is unpleasant (Eph. 6:5-8). Serve with goodwill doing God’s will from the heart in sincerity of heart as to Christ. A singleness of heart to doing right by those whom you serve. A mind to do a job well even if circumstances are bad. 1 Timothy 6:1; Titus 2:9-10 Christ is our boss!
