7. Re-Certification
Current Pilot Project requires 30 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every three years to maintain certification
CIWMB has offered more than 60 CEUs to LEAs and Board Staff and operators at no cost to support re-certification.

10. Options for Consideration
1. Direct staff to develop regulations beginning with an informal rulemaking process to require certification for on-site landfill managers responsible for day-to-day operations and for state and local landfill inspectors.
2. Direct staff to continue Landfill Operations Training/Certification Pilot Program for an additional two years
3. Direct staff to drop the program and not pursue regulations
4. Provide other direction to staff
