A ROOM AND 2 COKE CANS (A SCIENCE EXPERIMENT) Kelsie Neumann

WHAT TYPE OF THERMAL ENERGY TRANSFER DID I USE? The type of thermal energy transfer I used was convection! An example of this is standing near the heat vent and getting warmed up, then going to the other side of the room to cool down

WHAT WAS THE TOTAL TEMPERATURE CHANGE IN THE CANS? In my warm can the total temperature change was 4 degrees Celsius(decrease) In my Cold can the total temperature change was 6.2 degrees Celsius(decrease) In my Control can the total temperature change was 5.1 degrees Celsius(decrease)

HOW DOES THE TEMPERATURE OF MY CANS COMPARE TO THE CONTROL CAN? Throughout the experiment the control can stayed warmer than both the Cold, and warm can. I thought this was strange, because I kept the control can in the middle of my experiment. If it had worked out to what I thought it would, the temperature of the Control can would stay in the middle of the Warm and Cold can temperature's.

DID MY SYSTEM WORK? To be honest, my system didn’t work as much as I thought it would. The cold can for most of the experiment was warmer than the warm can. Then at the 18 minute mark, the cold can dropped 1˚, making it cooler for the rest of the experiment

HOW WOULD I MODIFY MY SYSTEM TO MAKE IT MORE EFFECTIVE? To make my system more effective I would have turned the heat up more. If I had done that my Warm can may of warmed up more. I also would have closed my door for 30 minutes to keep the room more warm.

LINE GRAPH The Control Can throughout the experiment stayed warmer than the Warm and Cold can The Cold Can was warmer than the Warm Can until the 18 minute mark, when the cool can dropped one degree Celsius The Warm Can stayed cooler than the Cold can until the 18 minute mark when the Cold Can dropped 1 degree celsius
