The changes are significant: *Test scoring reverts to the 1600-Point model. 800 Math. 800 Reading/Writing. *Multiple choice answers reduced from five (ABCDE) to four (ABCD). *Fewer sections on the New SAT (4) versus the Old SAT (8 plus mandatory essay). *No longer any penalty for an incorrect answer. *Evidenced-Focused Reading and Writing. More contemporary speeches and texts, plus graphs and charts to analyze. Progressive questioning (Answers can rely on former questions.) Analysis, not Memorization Historical documents (Birmingham Jail Letter) Scientific graphs *Sentence Completion section is eliminated. Obscure vocabulary memorization no longer emphasized. No more memorizing words for test only
