Goals Pilot new waste and recycling infrastructure Create clear, simple and effective education strategies Demonstrate the effectiveness of a coupled bin system for multi-user zones Expand the system to similar spaces on campus Increase recycling literacy among the university community members

Process Collaboration with Office of Sustainability, University Library Staff, Custodial Staff, Grounds Staff, Facilities Management, Campus Planning and Students to pick bins, develop signs and evaluation plan. Grant provided funding to help with initial purchase of the Busch Waste Watcher recycling and trash bins.

Next steps Conduct library user survey Conduct more spot audits Expand bin placement for remaining areas of the library Use as a model for our campus center, performing arts center and athletic facility
