1. What Is Venturing? Venturing is a program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (completed the 8th grade) through 20 years old. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

2. What Is Venturing? (Cont.) The orientation of this Venturing Crew is toward High Adventure activities. This includes a wide range of activities including long-term backpacking and canoeing expeditions, rock climbing, sailing, caving or other activities that the crew picks. The only limitation on the activities is that the activity can be accomplished safely. This may require that crew members learn necessary skills to be safe.
