In English we write the date in this order: day, month and year. And the month always starts with capital letter. - 9 th December 1986 (or) - The 9 th of December 1986 The last two letters o fthe number word are added to the date (1 st - 2 nd – 3 rd – 4 th ) - 25 th December 2006

The dates are written differently in British and American Englsih. British people write the date in this order: day-month-year. 10th March 2005 25th December 2006 American people write the date in this order: month- day- year. March 10th, 2005 December 25th

In American English, it is common to write the month first and to put a comma before the year. January 22 nd, 1985 A comma is inserted between the month ans the year when the date comes inside a sentence. - I was born on 22 nd January, 1985.
