1 Introduction to Infinite Campus 2009-2010 New Teacher Workshop Lesson Objective: After reading the directions to subdivide the online grade book, the participant will subdivide the online grade book into 3-6 categories for each class.

3 Navigating to the Lesson Planner Lesson Planner is a section-specific tool. Each section (or class) may have a different setup in Lesson Planner; or a lesson plan may be copied from one section to another.

4 Setting Lesson Planner Preferences Grading Category Options: Grade Book Organization Scheme ExampleProcess Weighted Groups Tests 40%, Quizzes 25%, Daily work 35% 1. Select “Use Weighting on Groups” on task preference. 2. Create multiple groups (with names such as test, quizzes, etc.) Unweighted Groups Unit 1 Assignments are grouped together, Unit 2 Assignments grouped together 1. Leave “Use Weighting on Groups” unchecked. 2. Create multiple groups (with names such as Unit 1 Assignments, Unit 2, etc.) All points in One Group All points 1. Create one group. 2. 2. All assignments that you create will be listed within it.

5 To create an assignment category Select LESSON PLANNER from the left task bar. Then, select the course from the drop-down menu. 1. Click new group. 2. Enter a name for the group. 3. If using weighted groups, enter a weight for this group. (No decimal or percentage is needed.) 4. Select the term/task combination that the assignments in this group will count towards. 5. Click SAVE when finished.

6 Viewing Assignment Categories 1. Click the course you are working in from the drop down menu at the top. 2. Select Gradebook from the task bar on the left. 3. All of your assignment categories should appear.

7 Assignment Select ONE course. Within that course: Set Lesson Planner Preferences for that course by selecting a grading category for the course. Create at least 3-5 assignment categories in the course. When completed, have it checked by an instructor.

9 Copying Grading Preferences To copy one course’s assignments to another class: 1. Select the source section in the section drop down menu. 2. Select the group that contains the assignment(s) to be copied. 3. Click Copy Group. 4. Select the assignments to be copied. 5. Select the group(s) to be copied to. 6. Click SAVE when finished.
