Connected Mathematics 2 Goals Develop mathematical knowledge, understanding, and skill Develop the capacity to define and solve problems with reason, insight, inventiveness, and technical proficiency Make connections between mathematical ideas and concepts

Math Expectations Attend and Participate Come to class on time Treat others with courtesy and respect Pencil, Red Pen, Book Organized Binder – all work shown Students are responsible for getting missed work.

Math Homework Approximately 30 minutes of homework M – TH Work must be shown for credit Math’s Mate due on Friday There will be occasional long–term projects that may require work over the weekend.

More About Homework Math is a skill that needs to be practiced outside of the class Students who are consistent about doing homework tend to have more success. Students who are having a difficult time completing homework will be asked to complete it during lunch.

Expectations 1.Attendance and participation are a must to succeed 2.Come to class prepared and on time 3.Treat others with courtesy and respect 4.All school policies as outlined in the student handbook

Science Homework Most assignments will be started in class and if time is used wisely can often be finished in class Papers and Projects – approximately one of each per quarter Make up work – it is the student’s responsibility to get and complete work missed while he/she was absent. For each day of an excused absence, students have one day to make up work. (math also) Late work – Half credit will be given for late work. (math also) No credit given after 2 days.

Helping your child with homework Help your child learn to observe objects and estimate problems. ca Listen to your child’s ideas and explanations Encourage your child to ask questions, propose answers and test them Encourage your child to look at something in a new way
