References to all other detail drawings in the set
Room names, wall types, door numbers
Dimensions
Call out enlarged plans for toilets, stairs, elevators, casework and other built-ins
Basic RCP information where applicable
Note anything that is not clear from the graphics, and use a leader line

8. Symbols and abbreviations
Decide on early
Use office standards
Use CAD blocks
There are usually favorite lists of abbreviations, graphic standards
We have a disk with standard blocks you can insert and adapt for a specific project

12. Dimensions
Must start somewhere – either a column, a stud, or an existing finish
Different levels of assemblies
For renovations, use Verify in Field (VIF) as needed
Can also specify centerlines or “Equal” dimensions

17. Sections No, they’re not elevations
Intended to show how your design fits within the building structure
Indicate all floor and ceiling level changes (use the bullet symbol)
Indicate ductwork, ceiling construction
Show the interior elevation
Exaggerate lineweights (always)
