Central Bedfordshire Council www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk Bedfordshire Hospital stays for alcohol related harm are better than the England average (Health Profiles 2013) The number of people in Bedfordshire who are alcohol dependant is expected to rise over the next 5 years, from 6,115 people in 2012 to 6,279 in 2016 (Bedford Borough) and from 9,867 people to 10,155 people in Central Bedfordshire (PANSI, 2012) People aged 16+, drinking at a level which increases the risk of damaging their health – 21% Bedford Borough 23% Central Bedfordshire (East of England average 17%)
