23 Citrix XenServer 6.5 SP1 Yes it is hard keeping track of when to use Capital Letters in the middle of words like XenDesktop and NetScaler and when to use an X to spell WorxHome and when not to use an X like Workspace.

24 Citrix XenServer 6.5 SP 1 XenCenter Management
Docker containter enablement Increased scalability to 1000 VMs/Host CoreOS and Windows 10 (Tech Preview) Enablement Graphics Support Intel GVT-d GPU Pass-Through for Windows VMs nVIDIA GRID GPU Pass-Through for Linux VMs nVIDIA vGPU Configuration via UI XenCenter Management In-Memory Read-Cache Usage visibility Supplement Pack installs via XenCenter Update Already available as of May 11 Check HCL and Readme before upgrading!!! Linux GRID passthrough??? So if is supported in hypervisor I would expect Linux VDA to make it official support for HDX 3D

25 Citrix Workspace Suite
Yes it is hard keeping track of when to use Capital Letters in the middle of words like XenDesktop and NetScaler and when to use an X to spell WorxHome and when not to use an X like Workspace.

28 Citrix Workspace Cloud

32 StoreFront could be in either location…
Blue managed by customer or purple managed by Workspace Cloud.

33 Trials are available at https://workspace.cloud.com/
Blueprints Publish - pre-designed workspace Design - designing a workspace Architect - deploy pre-configured blueprints or create your own Trials are available at Cost??? Workflow to build and administer services… kinda of confusing since conceptually they are trying to simplify but I doubt this will be included with a standard deployment… if it is per month cost, what happens if you turn it off?

34 Citrix CloudBridge WAN Virtualization
While Citrix did announce some newer HW models for CloudBridge, I’m going to foucs on WAN Virtualization since it is the most interesting.

35 WAN Virtualization CloudBridge virtual WAN solution allows enterprises to create one logical WAN network by bonding together multiple network services and optimizing the use of each path

36 Benefits Sub-second failover and failback No wasted bandwidth
High-priority applications perform well after failover Dramatically lower costs for expanding capacity Simplified, end-to-end management and monitoring Failover and Survivability – CloudBridge Virtual WAN appliances tag packets with sequence numbers, and also with information about the packets to follow. This allows destination appliances to detect path outages after just two or three missing packets. Information about the outages is immediately shared with all other appliances. Because these appliances have visibility into all of the WAN links, they can immediately reroute traffic onto the next-best available paths.

37 Citrix User Groups

38 Citrix User Groups Local user groups run by a local volunteer leader and encompass a city, state, region or vertical No fees or dues

39 Citrix Workspace Hub & Octoblu

40 Octoblu is a company Citrix acqyured to deliver on their internet of things vision. It is open source machine to machine instant messaging platform used for discovery, control and management. Example from the video had a sample work situation. They discussed how the 1st five minutes of every meeting is hunting down all the attendees, so using OctoBlu they created a workflow to identify all users invitied but not in attendance, then notify them with an or text message. That same workflow could leverage iBeacons and Amazon Echo to enable office interactions such as identifying the display in the meeting room you just entered, the ability to push your desktop to that displayor to interact with the Audio/Visiual via voice commands… So the workspace Hub transforms any PC display or conference room TV / projector into an intelligent Workspace, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, Dial bluetooth 4.0 and iBeacon support. It also has support for USB and RJ 45 connections. Check out the video for more information

42 NVIDIA GRID Update NVIDIA K1 and K2

43 Target Audience : Remoting High End Graphics
Engineers/Designers/Architects 3D graphics applications such Siemens NX, AutoDesk products, etc. Drive down costs of desktops Mobility Protect intellectual property Specialized Application Users GIS Video and Photo editing MathWorks, specialized simulations Flash based apps, Powerpoint, Google Earth, Office 2013, low end CAD applications that can take advantage of a GPU

44 NVIDIA GRID Cards – K1 and K2
vGPU now supported on VMware vSphere 6 Hypervisor So what did NVIDIA actually do? They developed 2 server cards known as the K1 and K2 cards. I’ve included the URL for the GRID certified servers list above. You need really need to follow that exactly and I would highly recommend you buy the servers with the cards rather than adding them later. Depending on the server vendor, there may be specific nuances such adapter cards, additional power or specific motherboards to enable these cards. As you can see from the screen, the K1 card is the lower end with lots of density and the K2 is the higher end model but for less users. Some servers can have 2 or even 3 of these cards but that is vendor and server model specific so check the GRID Certified Server list. Notice the K in the abbreviation. It stands for Kepler which is the codename for the GPUs in these cards.

45 GPU Profile Latest User Guide for NVIDIA GRID Manager
<Al> So while you have the option to perform a Pass-Thru (1 VM to 1 GPU) mapping, but that will only get you 4 users per K1 or 2 users per K2. While this is the best performance, not everyone needs the same specs… so in comes vGPU or GPU sharing. What you see on the screen is the vGPU math based on the vGPU profile. The GPU card is the first column. The number of GPUs on that card is next. Virtual GPU column is the card profile name. The profiles start with K1 or K2 based on the card. Then the higher the number, the more memory and resolution you can get, but the less desktops per GPU. The lower the number the more desktops you can get, but that equals less RAM and lower resolution. So you have to perform trade off between density and performance. The q is for Quadro which are the application certified profiles. These profiles undergo the same tests as the physical Quadro cards and there is a list of applications that are certified. Good Note: If there is no contention, a user will receive full access to all the GPU CUDA Cores on that GPU. Once there is contention the access to the GPU will be throttled appropriately. Latest User Guide for NVIDIA GRID Manager

46 RES IT Store self-service IT portal where users can interact with IT without delay (“iTunes” experience for all things IT) Provisioning a user all the things they need to start on day 1 (laptop, cell phone, , parking, etc.) usually takes a lot of time and multiple manual steps resulting in wasted hours. What if that could be automated? And what happens when the user leaves, how long does it take to correctly deprovision the user from all the resources they started their job with and have accumulated over the years. What if there was a repository of all things provisioned allowing simpler deprovisioning? What if you could take the top 3 three help desk support calls each year and reduce them by 80% by allowing users to request applications, administrator access, install applications, perform self service password reset, or remediate an issue automatically all without IT being involved? That is the power of RES IT Store.
