1. 1.Begin by opening VB 2.Click New Project or the icon Hello World Tutorial NOTE: depending on your version of VB – the images might be slightly different 3. Select "Windows Application" in the New Project Window. 4. Next to the word "Name" near the bottom, type in "Hello World". This will be the name of your project.

2. You should be looking at a window which looks similar to this. The Square on the left side is a form. 5. On the bottom right of the Window you should see the properties box. Scroll down until you see the word text. 6. In the box next to the word "Text", type in the words "Hello World" (no quotations necessary). 7. Look at the form after you have done this. Do you see where the text appears? It appears at the top of the form window.

3. 8. Click on the Toolbox icon. You should see the window below. 9. Click on the word "Label" and draw a rectangle on the form. 8. Look in the properties box to the bottom right of the screen. Change the name of the label to lblFirstLabel. 9. Scroll further down in the Properties box and find the word "Font". Click on the + to the left of "Font" and you will see a place to enter a font size. Enter 20 in this box to the right of font size. Scroll down further and find the world Text.Enter "Hello World" in the box to the right of the word "Text“ 10. Click on the "run" icon. This icon will allow you to preview the program and later help with debugging or finding errors the program. 11. Save All with a good name that you’ll remember. 12. Submit the.vb and.exe files.
