Inherent (Indonesia Higher Education and Research Network)
Start in 2007 with 32 nodes 2012 members 312 nodes 2013 stop the operational related Inherent running on “tunneling mode” in 20014 2015 Several university initiatives to build and running again inherent
15
Existing Network Inherent in Indonesia (survival mode)
By 2015 , several universities initiatives to build “Inherent/NREN/IDren” Expand the network through University Expand the Eduroam (education roaming) through the Inherent/NREN
16
Progress on August 2015 PT Indosat and PT Telkom agreed to collaborated for using Idle Capacity link in University The FO link and Metro Ethernet ready on many university Usually the company (Indosat and Telkom) provide Internet (International and domestic) Topology Centralized ( for beginning) Distributed Indosat suport for P2P link ITB – UB ( 200 Mbps) P2P link ITB – UI , Unhas (100 Mbps) Telkom Support for P2P 100 Mbps ITB to UI , ITS, UGM , UB Another FO company will support this idea (using idle/core capacity) The Network will be growth and support the research among the university
17
Link Established ITB (Bandung) and University Brawijaya (Malang)
Changes the Topology from P2P and centralized to ITB as gateway to TEIN/NREN
18
PT Telkom Provide trial Link 600 Mbps as backbone to Inherent/IDREN
Gateway in ITB Connect to TEIN4 network Start connect to University of Indonesia ( Jakarta) University of Gajahmada (Jogjakarta) University of Brawijaya (Malang) Surabaya Institute of Technology (Surabaya) P2P connect with 100 Mbps End of August 2015
19
Future Development Extend collaboration to other university in Indonesia Training , workshop etc Support the application Telemedicine We-nmr Eduroam (XeAP project) with AARnet and TEIN*CC Disaster Mitigation Competence Center EGI.Engage
