La sardana

The sardana is a Catalan popular dance and it is the national dance of Catalonia. It is danced in a circle. The origin of the dance come from Sardegna island and that is the reason of the dance’s name.

The music of the sardana is interpreted by some musicians live. They make “la cobla”. The word “cobla” means “union”.

The “tenora” is the solist of la cobla and the sardana always starts with the sound of “flabiol”.
