7 Format for FOLLOW-UP LETTERS 1. First Paragraph: – express appreciation (for the interview) – be short, concise – reference the interview or conversation time, date “I enjoyed meeting with you yesterday afternoon to discuss….”

8 Format for FOLLOW-UP LETTERS 2. Middle Paragraphs: – reinforce your qualifications “As I mentioned in the interview, ….” a few reasons you would be the correct choice for the position – express interest in something specific about the organization

9 Format for FOLLOW-UP LETTERS 3. Last Paragraph: – restate your appreciation “Again, thank you for the opportunity to….” – restate your interest “I remain very interested in….” – provide a hopeful closing “I look forward to….”

10 Format for FOLLOW-UP LETTERS 4. Closing: – end with an appropriate Closing Remark short, honest “Sincerely,” or “Respectfully yours,” – don’t forget to SIGN the letter signature + typed version
