4 Connecticut  Connecticut became a state on January 9, 1788.  It was the 5 th state to join the union.

5  The capital of Connecticut is Hartford.  There are 3,574,097 people as of the 2010 census.  Connecticut is represented in Washington D.C. by two senators and five representatives.

6 Connecticut’s Nickname  Connecticut is known as the Constitution State.
