12 Experimental Design In order to have a beautiful back yard for years to come, you need to design an experiment to test how flowers grow in your new yard. You want to plant both tulips and irises because they both bloom in early spring. The problem is you just moved into the house and do not know where you should plant the flowers to achieve optimal growth.

13 Your Yard You are concerned about the different conditions of your yard and how they will affect the growth of each type of flower. Your yard slants to the rear-this part of the yard stays more wet than other areas. Along the front side of your yard, the house blocks some of the sun light.

14 Design an experiment You have 30 of tulip and 30 iris bulbs. You need to design a study to determine which flower will grow best in your yard. Be sure to include a diagram showing your design.
