What do you know about the dolphin
What do you know about the dolphin? I will be telling you all about the dolphin. In this report I will be teaching you about what the dolphin looks like, where it lives, how it protects itself, what it eats, what its predators are, and some interesting facts.

Physical Description

Habitat Do you know where dolphins live? Dolphins live in warm and cold water. They live in salt and fresh water. They mostly live in salt water. Things you will see in the dolphins habitat are whales, rocks, and coral. The dolphin can survive in the water because they breathe through their blowhole. The oceans where the dolphin can be are in all oceans except the north and south oceans.

Defense Do you know what the dolphins defenses are? One way the dolphin protects itself is by getting into groups called pods. Another way the dolphin protects itself is it makes a lot of noise that confuses the predator. Finally the dolphin fools the predator by getting together and appearing bigger then they really are.

Prey Gulp! The dolphin is eating squid and fish. Dolphins eat different kinds of school of big fish so they do not get hungry. Dolphins eat squid. Then they’re not starving.

Predators Do you know who the dolphins enemies are? The dolphins enemies are sharks because they are hungry for food. People are also dolphins enemies because they cause oil spills and that hurts the dolphins body. The oil also makes them sick. If oil spills keep happening then dolphins might come extinct.

Interesting Fact Do you know some interesting facts about the dolphin? If a dolphin catches a large fish they break it into smaller pieces so its easier to eat it. When a dolphin is trying to catch a fish it uses its tail to slap the fish and that makes the fish sink to the bottom of the ocean. Then the dolphin eats the fish. Even though dolphins and sharks are enemies they sometimes hunt the same school of fish.
