5 Master Schedules Verification of Master Schedule. Check for accuracy of: ◦ Classes/course titles ◦ Days ◦ Times with what the school site has assigned you Report all changes to Lori and Lavonne immediately Review your work year calendar

7 Class Counts Submit official attendance count per period/section to Lori and Lavonne at the end of the 4 th week of school. ◦ MVUSD, VVUSD and SJUSD – 9/4/15 ◦ RUSD – 9/18/15 If any period/section attendance count drops below 20, please email counts (warm bodies only) to Lori and Lavonne If any of your periods/sections have low attendance, market your programs to the student body and counselors.

8 Verification Of Attendance (VOA) You must contact your school site, Lori and Lavonne anytime you are out of your classroom for any reason. Mail VOA immediately to Lavonne. RCOE-CTE substitutes are in short supply. Better to sign up for your District Sub Finder System (school secretaries will have information on how to do this).

9 VOA Process & Procedure Continued… Any absences related to school business (e.g., IEP meeting, field trip, training, work group meeting, etc.) that requires a substitute, will need to be paid for by your school site. Obtain prior approval and let Lavonne know that you will be out of the classroom and why. Follow up with a VOA, marking “other”, and inserting the name of the event you’re attending.

10 Policies & Procedures (Blue Folder) CTE Information & Authorization Form Uniform Complaint Procedure Form Williams Settlement Letter No Tolerance Issues Flyer Field Trips/Conferences. Must have approval from district administration and then submit to Lavonne for RCOE approval. Complete a TARR form. Anything submitted with costs associated, must have back-up paperwork from your district indicating that they have approved responsibility for all costs. Allow three weeks for processing and approvals.

13 Teacher Performance Agreement Identify at least one growth or developmental objective as applicable Teacher Performance Agreement Objectives become part of the Formal Observation and Annual Performance Review. Submit to Lavonne by 8/31/15.

14 Authorization to Use Vehicle for Official Business Form located on the left side of your blue folder. Fill out and submit with a copy of your license and insurance card. This form must be approved and on file with accounting for any mileage/travel reimbursement to be processed.

16 In Case of Workplace Injury Company Nurse Injury Hotline (877) 518-6702  Report all work-related injuries/illnesses to your supervisor immediately.  Call 911 if emergency care is needed. Otherwise, call Company Nurse Injury Hotline at (877) 518-6702  Company Nurse gathers information over the phone and helps injured worker access appropriate medical treatment at an approved facility.  Company Nurse will email Worker’s Compensation Packet to the employee. If the employee does not have access to their email, Risk Management will email the packet to the site secretary to forward to the injured worker.  REMEMBER THE CODE: RCOE - RSR03

17 In Case of Workplace Injury Company Nurse Injury Hotline (877) 518-6702  Injured worker needs to complete all forms, sign, and return to Risk Management.  Injured worker must submit all work status reports to their supervisor immediately.  If the doctor gives you work restrictions, do not assume that you are off work. RCOE does have a modified/alternative work program and will try to provide a reasonable accommodation as soon as possible.  Questions, Call Risk Management (951) 826-6571

Work with risk management and complete forms in a timely manner. Inform school administration

22 Keenan SafeSchools Mandated Safety Training Mandatory trainings required again this year. ◦ Some changes in modules, inclusion of child abuse. ◦ Required modules are listed by industry sector on the last two pages of safety training booklet ◦ Complete and submit certificate of completion to Lavonne by September 10 th. In-class use of videos may partner with safety requirements in your classroom and connect to safety tests

24 Prevention of Bullying in California Schools (Seth’s Law) Prevention of Bullying in California Schools (Seth’s Law)  Anti-bullying law requires school districts to protect students who are bullied based on their actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity/gender expression as well as race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability and religion.  School personnel must intervene  RCOE Board Policy 5131.2: Anti-Bullying Policy  Anti-bullying complaint process  Publication of anti-bullying policy and complaint process  Posting of bullying resources

28 PLC Changes One full group meeting scheduled for this afternoon Curriculum chairpersons with coordinator/principal will manage the direction and completion of the course work through the year Groups having Advisory in April 2016 will be a priority – but work should continue in other groups in preparation of Advisory Spring 2017 Each person in the PLC group will be assigned a task that is reported back to the curriculum chairperson. Some teachers may have several tasks depending upon the size of the group and the amount of work to be completed. Each group will be provided a task matrix to review this afternoon. Options for PLC group communication this year include the utilization of Google Docs, email and Haiku. Formal PLC meetings may not be scheduled in the large group settings as in the past. Individual PLC groups may meet individually and with the support of the supervising coordinator/principal. Curriculum chairpersons will use email and Haiku to provide updates of completed tasks and to provide document sharing.

29 CTE Status Report Your program is under a three year MOU; RCOE is your employer, not the district in which you teach. This year will be a transition year and we will all have challenges in figuring things out. Continue providing standards driven instruction Be excellent at what you do! All purchases go to me for approval and I will submit to your district. All technology support will be provided through your district; see your school site secretary for the process to request repair. All facilities support will be provided through the district; see your school site secretary for the process to request items. Please include me in all conversations of requests with your districts. Please be communicative, reliant, and work with your HS staff directly. Keep everyone in the communication loop and follow through on any requested items from your school site or CTE in a timely manner.
