5  Red Sea- The coastline of the Red Sea is one of Sudan’s major attractions. The crystal clear water and the natural charm of the coral reefs and marine gardens are the top reason for visiting this Sudan wonder.

8  Red, white, black and green are called the pan-Arab colors and have been historically linked to the Arab people and Islamic religion for centuries. The colors stand for Arab unity and independence.

9  It is bordered by Egypt to the north, the Red Sea to the northeast, Eritrea and Ethiopia to the east, Kenya and Uganda the southeast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic to the southwest, Chad to the west and Libya to the northwest. The world's longest river, the Nile, divides the country between east and west sides.

10  The climate ranges from arid in the north to tropical wet-and- dry in the far southwest. Temperatures do not vary greatly with the season at any location; the most significant climatic variables are rainfall and the length of the dry season.

11  Sudan has 4,725 kilometers of narrow- gauge, single-track railroads.  Sudan's road system totaled between 20,000 and 25,000 kilometers.  The Nile River, traversing Sudan from south to north, provides an important inland transportation route.  Sudan has 88 airports, 15 with paved runways, and 1 heliport.

12  The National Museum of Sudan, founded in 1971, is the national museum of Sudan, located on El Neel Avenue in Khartoum.  After Independence in 1956, a National Theatre was build that opened in 1959 for visiting companies.
