1. Computer Networking and Printing Technologies Katie Woods 7/25-28/11 STEM Summer Bridge 2011

2. Monday July 25th In Computer Networking we learned about what computer networking is and different terms associated with it. We also learned about Cisco and packets. In Printing Technologies we learned the basics of InDesign and created our own business cards.

3. Tuesday July 26th In Computer Networking we learned about the proper way to make specific cables. I made 2 straight-through, 1 crossover, and 1 rollover. In Printing Technologies we designed and printed note pads using InDesign and the shop equipment. We also got to created our own personal logo.

4. Wednesday July 27th Today, we had our field trip to ARINC. We learned about what all they do and how they do it. The terminology was hard to follow for the networking part but it was cool to see some of the stuff they have created and how they test it like the quick-check thing for airports. The printing part was quick but seeing some of the stuff that they have created for their company was neat.

5. Thursday July 28th Today we finished our cables and tested them through 2 computers. We had a little difficulty because a computer didn’t want to cooperate but in the end they worked properly. Now I am working on this journal because I haven't had time to thus far. In printing we are finishing any projects that we want to create. I am just creating random designs now.
